Frequently Asked Questions
What metals does BullionFolio support?
Currently we support gold (XAU) and silver (XAG), the two foundational metals of every stacker's portfolio. Both physical and vaulted holdings are fully supported.
How does BullionVault PDF import work?
If your metals are vaulted at BullionVault.com, we support uploading their Deal Statement PDFs. We will auto-extract the deal ID, metal, vault, weight, rate, and charges. No manual entry needed. Multiple statement uploads are supported, pulling your entire purchase history in one go. Records are de-duplicated automatically.
Do you support other vault providers?
We can track your holdings in any vaulting service that allows you to buy and sell metals. We currently do not provide statement uploads for them. Feel free to request support for additional providers by contacting us.
Is my data secure?
Yes. We use HTTPS with TLS 1.3 for in-transit encryption. We do not log PII data and transactions are never stored in your browser. Your portfolio data stays private.
Do I have to insert all transactions to use the app?
No, that would be tedious! You can start my simply marking your current holdings, and the portfolio manager will track it's value over time. Feel free to add transactions later as they occur.
Can I track my portfolio in different currencies?
Yes. Choose from USD, EUR, GBP, or CHF as your preferred currency. Key values, such as transaction amounts, portfolio totals, and charts convert automatically using daily market exchange rates.
How do I get started?
Create an account at app.bullionfolio.com, to get started. Set your preffered currency, weight unit and inital holdings and you're good to go.
Want to track incremental purchases? Just start adding transactions (or importing BullionVault PDFs if you vault with them). Your Portfolio updates instantly.
Are you associated with BullionVault?
No, we are not affiliated with BullionVault. I just happen to be a long-time customer.
Do I need a BullionVault account to use this site?
No, you do not need a BullionVault account. You can track your precious metals across any vaulting service, combination of vaults, or even your personal stash at home.
While we currently only support automated statement uploads from BullionVault, we plan to add more services eventually. If there is a specific vaulting service you would like us to support, please let us know via the contact form below.
How long does the beta period last?
The beta period is currently ongoing, and we plan to transition to a full release soon. If you've signed up, we'll notify you by email when the full version is available.
There is a small chance data loss may occur during this period. I recommend keeping your transactions backed up.
Do we pay as soon as the beta period ends?
No, we'll switch you over to a free trial first.

Over the years, I slowly accumulated gold and silver, but quickly realized how difficult it is to build a portfolio without access to expensive institutional tools. After a few tries with Excel spreadsheets, I decided to build BullionFolio.com.
